The Three Artists of Ally Art Studio
Harry Ally *** Suzanne Ally *** Zane Ally

Harry is retired after more than 30 years as a professor of drawing and painting, Harry Ally holds the title of Professor Emeritus at Valdosta State University in Georgia. The artist has received numerous awards for his work while compiling an extensive exhibition record including works shown at the New Orleans Museum of Art, and the Modern Art Museum of Ft. Worth. He has been represented by the Lowe Gallery in Atlanta and Santa Monica, the Soren Christensen in New Orleans, the Stricoff Fine Arts in NYC, and the Craighead Green Gallery in Dallas, among others, and is currently exhibiting at Mason Fine Art in Atlanta.
Harry describes painting as "the primal instinct to mark. It's a visual record of mind, body, and spirit...an existential search for meaning."
Suzanne holds a BFA in painting from Texas Christian University. She is an outstanding artist in her own right. Harry and Suzanne have worked closely over the years, influencing the work of one another, and often working in collaboration, teaching together at art institutions across the US and most recently at the Governor’s Honors Program at Georgia Southern University where Suzanne taught via the Questions and Dialogue Method whereby she helps each student discover their own unique pathway as an artist.
Both artists feel that the studio is where art is most alive, where pieces are in constant states of flux, and that works of art should remain "actively unfinished", a gestalt philosophy that encourages completion through mental perception.
Harry and his wife Suzanne, recently moved back to the States after living in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico. They currently live in Valdosta, Georgia where they have adjoining studios while Zane lives just two doors away.
Zane, as the son of 2 artists, grew up in a very active artistic environment. He was raised in art studios surrounded by artists and college art students during his childhood.  He was exposed or should we say forced into the world of art, after all, he was dragged from one gallery to another and of course to many of the best museums in the country. Oh, how we tortured him as a child.  It’s not surprising that as an adult Zane became an accomplished photographer and film maker winning several awards in both mediums. He currently works at IPG Architecture in Valdosta.
All three artists have been exhibiting together in exhibitions throughout the southeast, most recently see their work at The Gadsden Art Museum. Opening night August 1, 2025
